Tencent, the owner of Riot Games and the owner of serious shares in big companies such as Epic Games, is one of the giant names in the gaming world. But the company is in trouble because it has been blacklisted by the US Department of Defence due to alleged links to the Chinese military.

The US government has declared Tencent and several other companies to be linked to the Chinese military, Bloomberg reports. Companies can appeal this decision, but if their appeals are rejected and they remain on the blacklist, they are likely to face serious consequences. Blacklisted companies can be removed from US stock exchanges and forced out of global markets.

Ubisoft intended to buy more shares in Ubisoft, but no conclusion could be reached on this issue. If the company is not removed from the blacklist, the balance in the game world may change.
