The Wolfenstein Series Will Continue

In a Noclip documentary about the history of MachineGames, studio head Jerk Gustafsson made a statement that will excite fans of the series. Gustafsson stated that the team wants to develop a direct sequel to 2017's Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus.

In his statement, Gustafsson said:

“We have always seen this as a trilogy. From the very first day, when we were planning New Order, we had a rough idea in our heads of what would happen in the second and third games for BJ's journey. So it's important to say this: At least, I hope we're not done with Wolfenstein yet. We have a story to tell.”

About the New Wolfenstein Game

The main point fans are curious about is which direction the story will continue. The new story universe that began with the 2014 game The New Order had an open-ended yet complete-feeling finale after The New Colossus. The 2019 spin-off game Youngblood, on the other hand, moved the story 20 years forward, centering on BJ Blazkowicz's twin daughters.

According to fan theories, the new game could be set between The New Colossus and Youngblood, directly continue the story of Youngblood, or switch to a completely different timeline.

The studio may return to the Wolfenstein series after working on the additional content The Order of Giants for the recently released Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
