Statement from Crytek: Crysis 4 Postponed Indefinitely

Crytek, one of the well-established studios of the gaming world, announced that it could not withstand the difficult economic conditions of the sector and announced that it started a massive layoff wave. According to the company's statement, 15% of the team of approximately 400 employees will be laid off. However, Crysis 4 has also been postponed indefinitely.

Work on the project had been ongoing, but the studio halted the process in the last quarter of last year. Initially planned as a temporary pause, this process has now turned into an indefinite postponement.

Crytek has announced that it is shifting its development team to Hunt: Showdown 1896 to focus on growing the survival FPS. However, the statement emphasises that despite the growth of the Hunt: Showdown 1896 project, the company cannot continue as before and that such layoffs and postponements are inevitable in order to create a financially sustainable model for the company.

Stating that it will provide severance and career support to laid-off employees, Crytek believes Hunt: Showdown 1896 is a long-term investment and plans to continue to expand and grow the content of this game.
