Sony's Live Service Game Fairgames Postponed

With developer Jade Raymond's departure from the team, Fairgames has been delayed to 2026.

Sony's Live Service Game Fairgames Postponed

Sony's in-development live service game Fairgames has been postponed according to the latest news. It is speculated that the delay is due to the departure of Jade Raymond, founder of the game's developer Haven Studios, from the studio.

Bloomberg has confirmed Raymond's departure from the studio, although no reason has yet been given. Publishing studio Sony has not made an official statement on Raymond's departure or the fate of the game.

The article also mentions that external testing of the game has recently taken place. These tests also caused some developers to worry about how Fairgames would be received by players. For this reason and the departure of founder Raymond, the game has been delayed from this autumn to spring 2026, just like GTA 6.

About Sony's Live Service Game Fairgames

In fact, the news that Fairgames has been delayed is not the first time we have heard this news. As we stated in the news we shared with you in February, the game was postponed to 2026 according to Jeff Grubb's claims. Grubb did not provide a source for this claim, he conveyed the information he received from within the industry. But now that Raymond has left the studio, there will undoubtedly be a delay in the game.

Fairgames, which was first announced at the PlayStation Showcase in May 2023, joins Sony's line-up of unlucky live service games. Although last year's Helldivers 2 was PlayStation's fastest selling game, Sony recently cancelled God of War live-service game, Days Gone developer Bend's live-service game, and the short-lived Concord.

Despite all this, Sony has not given up on its live-service ambitions. A new in-house studio, teamLFG, will develop a new live service game. There is also rumoured to be a new multiplayer live service project to host e-sports matches.
