Silksong Reached 5 Million Players in 3 Days
According to data from an analysis firm, Hollow Knight: Silksong surpassed 5 million players in just three days.

Released on September 4th, Hollow Knight: Silksong managed to meet the high expectations of fans and achieved massive success. The game, which reached 500,000 players on its first day, surpassed 5 million players in three days, according to information from Alinea Analytics.

Silksong Surpassed 5 Million Players
It is stated that about 3 million of these players came from Steam, and thus the game managed to generate over 50 million in revenue from Steam alone within three days. Alinea Analytics also says this is the biggest success they have observed so far.
Additionally, the website states that over 1 million of the 5 million players played via Game Pass. However, it's worth noting again that since the developer team, Team Cherry, has not yet announced the official player count, all of this is data obtained by an analysis firm.
So, what else are Silksong players playing? According to the data, 78% of Steam players and 81% of PlayStation players have also played the original Hollow Knight. This means that about 22% of Silksong players chose to dive into the second game without playing the first.
In addition to all this, it is seen that nearly half of the Steam players have played Elden Ring, and more than a third have experience with Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro. The rest of the list includes metroidvania/platformer games like the Ori series, Celeste, Dead Cells, and Blasphemous.
