New Feature Introduced for Game Pass Ultimate

News on the Stream Your Own Game feature that will be available for users in the Xbox Insiders programme to try in November 2024! With this new feature, you will be able to play your games on different platforms without downloading them. As of Wednesday 16 April, you will be able to play your favourite games from Xbox One console to Chrome browser if you have Game Pass Ultimate. Details in our article!

About Game Pass Ultimate Stream Your Own Game

Stream Your Own Game will allow you to experience certain games not in the Game Pass library on other platforms. Microsoft's list of more than 100 games includes recent titles such as Assasin's Creed Shadows, Baldur's Gate 3, Dying Light 2 and Final Fantasy XIV. If you see a cloud icon on the page of the games you have in your library on your console, you can recognise that it is included in this list.

In detail, the new feature has been available for some time, allowing games to be accessed on TVs, Chrome and Edge browsers, tablets and mobile devices. With the latest update, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One consoles were added to the supported platforms. This means that Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can play the game they bought from a single platform on the other platforms we have listed without repurchasing and downloading. To use this cloud feature, which we can liken to GeForce Now, you need to have a stable internet connection and a minimum 5 GHz Wi-Fi or 20 Mbps Ethernet connection.

In addition to this feature, the Xbox April update makes it easier to clear your console's storage space. If you have several copies of the same game, this will be highlighted. Remote play will also be available with the permission you give from the browser instead of the Xbox app on mobile. With this update, which will not require you to use an app, the feature will come to Samsung Smart TVs, Meta Quest devices and Amazon Fire TVs.

Additional content can now be purchased, Game Pass subscriptions can be started, and Perks can be collected from the Xbox app on mobile devices. This change will be rolled out to beta users for now, and will then be brought to Google Play and the Apple Store.
