Fortnite Film Allegations Refuted
Epic Games boss Tim Sweeney denied claims of a Fortnite film.

Last Saturday, rumours surfaced that Fortnite was the next game to be adapted into a film. According to a now-deleted X post by a film industry insider, Epic Games had decided to revive their adaptation after they couldn't find a producer.
But Epic Games boss Tim Sweeney denied these claims within hours. Replying to the original post, Sweeney briefly addressed the Fortnite film rumours as "false"
About Fortnite Film
Fortnite movie rumours have been put forward by Daniel “DanielRPK” Richtman, a familiar name in the industry. Richtman stated that Epic Games had previously presented the idea of a film to the studios, but there was no producer interested in this idea, “You know Fortnite is next, there was already talk about a Fortnite film, but some studios passed on it. It is clear that this will change now.” he had made the sentence.

Although Sweeney's short answer denied the film, we can say that he also avoided shedding light on Epic's film adaptation plans. So much so that Richtman, the source of the allegations, declared in his reply to Sweeney that he takes full responsibility if what he said is wrong, and asked if Sony had turned down a Fortnite film opportunity years ago. Sweeney does not yet have an answer to this question.
When we take into account A Minecraft Movie, which was released on 4 April 2025 and grossed $301 million in its opening week, we cannot say that Richtman's claims are unwarranted. After this success, we think that other games, even if not Fortnite, will want to be adapted to film.
