Far Cry Will Prioritize Multiplayer Modes
The Far Cry series will prioritize multiplayer elements.

Ubisoft has officially confirmed that it will focus more on multiplayer elements in the future of the Far Cry series. Speaking at the New Global Sport Conference event in Saudi Arabia, CEO Yves Guillemot stated that the series' future games will feature multiplayer elements to increase their long-term playability.
Guillemot said, “Multiplayer features will be more prominent in the future of the series. This is our main goal to increase the long-term playability of the game.”

These statements also align with reports that emerged in 2023. At that time, it was suggested that Ubisoft was working on both Far Cry 7 and developing a standalone Far Cry multiplayer game. It was claimed that the said multiplayer project would be an extraction shooter set in the Alaskan wilderness.
The seventh game is reported to be developed with the Snowdrop game engine instead of the Dunia engine used in the last games of the series. The standalone multiplayer project aims to offer an experience compatible with Ubisoft's live service strategy.
Far Cry 6, released in 2021, offered online co-op but did not include a competitive multiplayer mode. To address this deficiency, Ubisoft focused on its Montreal studio. In 2023, Sandra Warren from the Montreal team was appointed as the vice president and executive producer of the brand.
