Bungie Admits Allegations of Plagiarism in Marathon
Bungie acknowledged that some of Marathon's environmental designs were used without permission from another artist.

Bungie's upcoming game Marathon has come under fire not for its gameplay mechanics or release date, but for alleged plagiarism. Scottish artist Fern Hook has revealed that Bungie used visual material from his 2017 work without permission.
Bungie Confirms Plagiarism Allegations
Hook stated that the environmental designs in the recently released Marathon alpha version are extremely similar to the poster and graphic work he has been working on for years. In his post on social media, he compared his designs with Marathon's in-game textures and made the following statements:
"Bungie of course doesn't have to hire me when they're making a game that draws heavily on the design language I've been developing for the last decade, but it's clear that my work is good enough to be plundered for ideas and plastered all over their games without pay or attribution."
