Are Loot Boxes Coming to Marvel Rivals?

The game has stayed away from loot box mechanics since its release in December 2024. However, in analyses conducted before the new season, loot box components coded as “Mysteries” were found in the game. It was also noted that the code contains expressions that could refer to boxes, such as “cosmic mysteries number” and “box open history change”.

In addition to all this, it is also thought that loot boxes might be linked to limited-time in-game events. The upcoming Halloween period, in particular, reinforces the possibility of a short-term loot box event within the game.

In recent years, many games had abandoned loot box mechanics, which were deemed equivalent to gambling and banned in various countries. This system, said to push users to constantly spend money, was also strongly rejected by many players.
